Khashon was conceptualised way before it took shape in the real world. It started when the
owner’s father bought her, their first pair of high-heeled shoes for a wedding at age 16. After
putting them on and loving them- she quickly realised that whilst they looked good, they
were quite uncomfortable. And so, it began. Zamanti, spent years pondering and designing
ways to make this style of shoe both enjoyable to look at and to wear. After many years it
was time to take the first steps. She embarked on the journey to launching this brand without
a name. Until, one day she shared her plans and ideas for a high-end luxury, proudly South
African bespoke shoe brand, with their mother and younger sister. After expressing that one
of the only things they seem to struggle to crack is the name of this brand- they had
considered their mother and father’s name to no avail. Zamanti’s mother then suggested why
not “KHASHON”? It is a moniker made up of her mother’s name and surname. Her mother
has been using it since her children were young. After being given the blessing of using her
mother’s name for the brand, there was no stopping it.
Khashon is a brand that seeks to show the elevation of fashion in South Africa, a brand that is
focused on revolutionising the women’s shoe facet in global fashion. We are a brand proud of
its origins, proud to be South African. We passionate about innovating the functionality of
high-heeled shoes. Our desire is to be inclusive, fresh and constantly push the boundaries
when it comes to design and fashion. This is only the beginning.
